Enabling FindMy Mobile Feature
- Start by going to your home screen and tapping on the Apps icon or swiping up to access your apps.
- Look for the Settings option and tap on it.
- Depending on your device, you might find options like Biometrics and security, Lock screen and security, or Security. Tap on the one that applies to you. If you can't find any of these, don't worry, just move on to the next step.
- Now, look for Find My Mobile and tap on it. If you don't see it, that's okay, we'll move to step 5.
- You should see an option called Remote Controls or Enable remote controls. Tap on it.
- If you've already set up your Samsung account, you might need to enter your password at this point.
- Finally, you'll find a switch at the top of the screen. Just toggle it on by sliding it to the right. If you don't have a Samsung account, don't worry, the switch will be disabled. In that case, just tap on "add account" to create your Samsung account.
Locating the Phone
- Start by logging into the Find My Mobile site and look for the option that says "Locate my mobile".
- If it's your first time logging in, make sure to agree to the terms and conditions by checking the checkbox and clicking "I agree".
- Once you've initiated the process, Find My Mobile will try to locate your device. Keep in mind that it may take some time or it might not succeed, depending on factors like the network and the current state of your device. If it does locate your device, you'll see a marker on the map indicating its approximate location.
Locking the Phone
- Start by following the first step mentioned in the "Locate the phone" section.
- Once you're on the main page, look for the "Lock" option on the right-hand side and click on it. A pop-up box will appear, giving you the choice to lock the screen or lock the power off function. Choose the one you prefer and click "Next".
- Now, you'll need to enter some details. Set a PIN that you want to use to lock your device. You can also add an emergency contact phone number, which will be displayed on the locked device and can be called if needed. Additionally, there's an option to customize a message that will appear on your device.
- After providing the necessary information, simply tap on "Lock" to start the locking process.
Wiping the Data
- Start by following the first step mentioned in the "Locate the phone" section.
- Once you're on the Find My Mobile page, look for the option that says "Erase data" and give it a click.
- A prompt will pop up asking you to confirm the data erase. Simply click on "Erase".
- Now, you'll be prompted to enter your Samsung account password. Go ahead and provide the password as requested.
- Finally, click on "OK" to confirm the data wipe. If your device is currently offline, don't worry, the wipe will take place the next time it goes online.
